Patent Office Action Strategy Analysis View
Review your complete patent office action analysis — examiner rejections, prior art comparisons, patent claim amendments, and response strategy — in an interactive document workspace.
Last updated: February 28, 2026
The Strategy Analysis View is where you review your complete patent office action analysis and work on your response to the examiner. It opens when you click an analysis card from the dashboard.
Layout
The view consists of three main areas:
- Document Sidebar (left) — Lists all patent prosecution documents organized by category
- Document Panel (center/right) — Displays the selected document content
- Workspace Tools — Chat with Documents and Patent Claim Amendment editor, accessible from the sidebar
Document Sidebar
The sidebar organizes your patent prosecution documents into categories:
- Analysis — Executive Summary, Office Action Response Strategy, and rejection-specific analyses (§102 anticipation, §103 obviousness, §101 eligibility, §112 disclosure)
- Source Documents — Patent Office Action, Patent Application (specification), Claims (Clean and Redline)
- Prior Art — Each cited prior art reference listed individually by name and patent/publication number
- Fetched References — Patents or publications the AI fetches during chat (e.g., when you ask it to look up a patent); these appear in the sidebar and can be @ mentioned like other documents
- Imported Documents — Documents you imported from Application History (previous office actions, responses, amendments)
- Application History — Full prosecution timeline; view PDFs and import documents
- Workspace — Chat with Documents and Patent Claim Amendment tools
Click any document name to view it in the main panel. The currently active document is highlighted in the sidebar.
Document Panel
The main panel renders documents with rich formatting:
- Markdown rendering — Headings, lists, bold/italic text, tables, and code blocks
- In-document search — Search for specific terms within the current document, navigate between matches with arrow buttons
- Cross-references — Clickable blue links that jump to related content in other documents (see Cross-Document Linking)
- Element tooltips — Hover over patent element numbers to see figure previews from the specification
Split View
You can view two documents side-by-side by enabling Split View Mode. This is especially useful for comparing the response strategy against the patent office action, or reviewing prior art alongside the patent claims.
